SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR — UNIX / LINUX INFRASTRUCTURE

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Office of Enterprise Network (OEN) is seeking an experienced System Administrator

to maintain the health, security, and integrity of the organization's UNIX/Linux

enterprise environment. This role combines hands-on systems administration with

SAN storage and fabric switch expertise across multiple platforms, ensuring highly

available, resilient infrastructure for enterprise systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

INFRASTRUCTURE DESIGN & DOCUMENTATION

• Develop system design specifications and documentation for databases, communication

systems, hardware, network, security, storage, and software configurations

• Create structured diagrams for databases, storage area networks, security

architecture, and network programs

• Compile, maintain, and document configurations for servers, databases,

security/network monitoring systems, and communication systems

• Write operational and installation procedures for hardware, network, security,

storage, and software systems

• Develop upgrade guidelines and new operational procedures across databases,

operating systems, network software, and client-server systems

SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION & SUPPORT

• Build, test, and maintain highly available environments for enterprise systems resiliency

• Design reports, audit trails/logs, and security mechanisms

• Support technical staff on escalated program, database, or IT issues

• Occasionally liaise with customers to clarify feature requirements or resolve issues

• Test applications, integrate system modules, and implement IT quality assurance standards

• Partner with managers, senior programmers, support staff, and product managers to plan and implement application changes and enhancements

STORAGE INFRASTRUCTURE

• Implement and maintain SAN across multiple storage platforms

• Manage storage area network configurations and fabric switches

• Ensure high availability and performance of enterprise storage systems
